Senior Network Administrator

On-site role in the Grand Rapids, MI area

$72k-$92k a year based on experience

This is a senior-level, hands-on technical role responsible for the configuration, optimization, and security of enterprise systems that support the bank’s infrastructure and business operations.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Administrator:

• Administer physical and virtual server environments (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V)
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and uptime
• Manage enterprise services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Lead infrastructure projects, including deployments, upgrades, and cloud migrations
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Implement and monitor IT security systems including antivirus, patching, and firewalls
• Collaborate across teams to align systems with business needs and compliance standards
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical escalation support
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and generate performance reports
• Coordinate with vendors on contracts, support, and procurement initiatives

Requirements of the Senior Network Administrator:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise-level systems administration experience
• Advanced certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Azure, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+)
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms
• Familiarity with Azure/AWS, Office 365, and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG)
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell)
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts
• Comfortable with after-hours support and scheduled maintenance windows
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while driving projects to completion
